The Information We Collect
Our mission is Increasing Learning in Today's Schools and our customers are the administrators and classroom teachers of K-12 education and departments of education at colleges and universities. We collect information about our customers for purposes of tracking earned credit in the form of Continuing Education Credits or Professional Development Points. We collect information about visitors who order our products, who participate in our online learning and professional services, and fill out surveys or questionnaires. We do not solicit information from minors. (Minors should obtain permission from their parents or guardians before providing personal information on the Internet.) The following information is merely representative of the information we collect from our customers and visitors online:
- Name
- Title
- Name of employer
- Contact information: email, telephone, address
- IP address
- User ID & password access codes
- Use of our products may require registration
- Browser type and user system profiles
- If a customer decides to pay School Improvement Network online for a product, we would collect the user's credit card number
- Survey responses such as professional opinions on educational issues, teaching strategies, or other professional topics that are generally of interest to our online community
The School Improvement Network does not sell emails or personal information about its customers or visitors to third parties.
Use of Information
Our goal is to increase learning in today's schools by providing educators with knowledge tools that lead to success. We provide high quality learning products and professional development services in media ranging from Internet-based, videotape, DVD, print and more. Our customers purchase licenses to obtain access to our online professional development products. We collect information about our customers in order to maintain security on our system, track credit and customer usage, and to design our initiatives in product design, content production, marketing and sales. From time to time, we may share personal information with parent or affiliate companies ("Related Companies") so that they may provide our customers with information about products or services that may be of interest to them. If we share personal information with Related Companies, we will require that those companies provide opt-out and/or unsubscribe instructions any time they contact our customers.
Customer Materials
Part of the service provided by School Improvement Network gives customers the opportunity to post and share materials ("Postings") on parts of our web site. Please be advised that School Improvement Network may not screen, edit, or review Postings before they appear on the site. These materials are the responsibility of the customer that submits the Postings. School Improvement Network has no responsibility for Postings. However, School Improvement Network retains the right to review, edit or delete any Postings School Improvement Network deems to be illegal, offensive or inappropriate. The Postings do not necessarily reflect the views of School Improvement Network. We will do our best to monitor all content posted by our customers and remove content that is deemed inadmissible.
