Kent D. Petersen
Dr. Kent D. Peterson is a Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an expert on principals and school culture and has dedicated much of his career to researching these two topics. Dr. Peterson helps principals understand their leading role in the culture and reform of their schools.
Dr. Peterson is the author of three books and several journal articles. He is the founding Director of the Vanderbilt Principals Institute, an organization devoted to researching the roles of principals and developing training to help principals become more effective. He has also served as Director of the Principals Leadership Institute and as a member of the American Educational Research Association.
Dr. Petersen earned his B.A. at Amherst College, his M.A. at Temple University, and his Ph. D. at the University of Chicago.
