J. Allen Queen

A thirty-five year veteran of education, Dr. Ernestine Riggs has taught at all levels from preschool to graduate students.  Currently, Dr. Riggs is an Assistant Professor at Loyola University Chicago and a Senior Program Consultant for the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory.

Dr. Riggs has spent most of her career teaching in the Chicago Public Schools, as both a teacher and administrator.  As an administrator she assisted in the implementation of reading and Language Arts Programs for more than 500 elementary schools, 410,000 students, and 23,684 teachers.  She was deeply involved in professional development and coordinated training and workshops for Chicago teachers.  Dr. Riggs also spent six years teaching in Japan.

Dr. Riggs presents frequently at local, regional, national, and international conferences and has written several books.  Ms. Riggs earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Loyola University.
