Bernice McCarthy
Dr. Bernice McCarthy is the creator of the 4Mat® System, a framework for organizing learning which identifies the diversity of learners. She is the founder and president of About Learning, Inc., a research, publishing and consulting firm specializing in educational theory, instructional design, and technology. Dr. McCarthy works with educators and private sector managers around the world to teach people how individuals learn, how groups learn, and how organizations learn.
Dr. McCarthy is a nationally known author and lecturer. She has presented numerous workshops and keynote speeches at prominent organizations, including the Smithsonian Institute, the Center for Creative Leadership, the Association of School Administrators, the United States Navy, and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has written five books on instructional strategy and the 4Mat® System.
Dr. McCarthy earned her doctorate in education and learning theory from Northwestern University in Chicago.
